Mark your calendar and plan to attend.  We are pleased to announce that Mark Del Monte, JD the interim CEO/Executive Vice President of the American Academy of Physicians, will be the keynote speaker in the morning focusing the issues most impacting children today and how to advocate for the health of all children.

The morning will also take a closer look at two of these issues from a Nebraska perspective – immigration and gun safety and highlight ways to make a positive impact.

The afternoon session will feature a series of 30-minute pediatric-subspecialty updates and provide a Nebraska Chapter, AAP update.

HPV Project at AAP

The AAP, along with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the American College of Physicians (ACP), and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) — together with the Immunization Action Coalition and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, have issued a call urging  physicians across the United States to educate their patients about the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, and to strongly recommend HPV vaccination. Click here for more information.

Building Bridges – Home Visitation

In November, 2013, the Nebraska Chapter was awarded a one year grant to Build Bridges between Home Visitation and Pediatrics in Nebraska. This grant follows a successful Phase I of the Building Bridges project in 2013, where the chapter made connections among Early Childhood Professionals and pediatricians. The grant will run through 2014.
